Knit Fly Me To the Moon Fingerless Mitts Pattern

If you have ever worked in a cold office you know how wonderful (and necessary) fingerless mitts are. I used to work where all of us kept blankets at our desk, and hot beverages on our desk to help keep us warm. But, it could get so cold your fingers just wouldn’t want to type the right keys. Having a pair of fingerless mitts or gloves became a necessity to help get through those cold days productively.

Free Crochet Beginner Summer Shirt Pattern – Island in the Sun Top

This pattern came about so quickly, and how easy it became a reality to what I envisioned, means it was just meant to be!

Using worsted weight in crochet so that it works up quick, but having a fabric that is suitable for summer seams to be an oxymoron. However, with this Island in the Sun top both are combined to create a lightweight top perfect for summer.

Machine Knit Iris Lace Triangle Shawl – Free Pattern

Consisting of 6 different panels in three colors, this color blocked Iris Shawl is a beauty to wear! The traditional lace texture combined with the graphic combination of colored panels creates a stunning wrap that is traditional in reference but with a modern twist.

This pattern is designed to be made on a flat bed knitting machine, but since the largest panel is only 33 stitches wide it can also be made on an Addi or Sentro that has enough needles! All the patterns are hand transferred so no special tools or machine add ons are needed.

Machine Knit Fly Me To the Moon Fingerless Mitts Free Pattern

Living in the northern midwest of the US this year has been cold. Just plain cold. It started earlier than usual and seemed to stay very cold. So, on the days of -10 not including a wind chill, it was cold.

A majority of the week days I am home with just the cats while my husband is at work and the kids are off at school. I let the house temperature drop a few degrees and add on my sweaters and blankets so that the furnace doesn’t have to run all day long for just me. The cats have never said they minded it being cooler in the house either.

This fall I published a crochet fingerless mitts pattern that my girls confiscated the ones I made. So, with this cooler winter weather I was ready to make another pair just for me.

Free Sweet Dreams Crochet Spa Set Pattern – Washable Face Scrubies & Bag

With a teenager and a preteen daughter in the house I am quickly seeing how much face care routines have changed since I was their age. I think my sister and I had Clearasil or Noxema in the early 90s, and we maybe used a tinted moisturizer since my mom said we weren’t old enough for makeup. Now, there is a little more knowledge on face care for their age.

With them taking a little more interest in not getting any more pimples and black heads, I am seeing how many more cotton face pads we are going through. It dawned on me that I could make little crochet ones that we can wash, and not have to throw away so much.

Free Mid-Gauge (LK150) Machine Knit Diamond Lady Cardigan Pattern

I cannot even begin to express my excitement for this cardigan. Ever since making the Sweater Wrap Scarf I have been thinking of how to incorporate the tuck stitch into a cardigan.

The texture and visual interest that the tuck stitch brings to the fabric, and how easy it is to achieve makes it so worth it. Even making it on a LK150 with all hand transferred patterning it is simpler than you think with the repetitive tuck pattern.
